Hello There Stranger
Its me again. I know Empty promises and other manly behavior. Hey, from the very beginning I stated posts would be few and far between. Anyway, I am writing today to discuss the very popular topic of Facebook. But I dont want to write about Facebook as a whole, I want to write about one particular user that everyone is aware of. The very annoying "Ever Poster" or EP's. these people feel the need to live there lives on FB posting every thought, every action, and every whim on FB. Now, dont get me wrong, I understand that FB is a tool for people that really never got past the fact that High School and other glory days of their youth were temporary. I understand that the people that in high school that you never gave your ear to, now have it in the form of print. I am tired of this. Im tired of my FB home page filled up by one person who thinks that their random, tongue and cheek, bs rambling is funny or even remotely entertaining. Well Its over. From now on, be warned, if i dont think what you state is entertaining, then you will be deleted from my friends.

How Long is too Long?
Hello again to the merry few that visit this blog. I has been about 7 months since my last post. I told you there would be long periods between posts. I have to be honest, it has been so long that I wrote in my blog that i forgot my log ins. So, to answer the title question, it has been too long when you cant log into your own blog. Never the less, I have a plethora of topics to write on. Choosing which one to write on first seems to be the problem. We have... Death in the Family, Job Searching, Mortgage Industry, Football, Elections, Teenagers, and last but not least WOMEN. I hope to touch upon all these topics in the coming weeks. With that said, I'm wrapping up this post and will be writing soon.

My Ass is sore!
A quick editorial post about losing weight. As most of you know, I'm 6 ft and 235 lbs, which classifies me as overweight. I've tried expensive diets, cheap diets, physical trainers, and lots of pills. I have even considered (not done) developing a drug problem. It worked for some women I knew. I want to call it an obsession to lose weight but then I hesitate because if I was truely obsessed I would think that i would be thin by now. I'm completely perplexed. I find myself spending time trying to figure out what my hesitation is with the Nike slogan of "just do it" while doin absolutely nothing. I know that I would feel better, I know that the wifey would appreciated it. I have everything to live for, so what's the deal. I think it boils down to the fact that I'm comfortable and nobody wants to leave their comfort zone and that I've failed so many times I have the mindset that I'll try something new until I fail again. I also decided that I dont care about the weight, and that it is only a side effect to me being out of shape. And since I cant tackle losing weight I'll have to tackle getting back into shape. In fact I feel the start of a new addiction. I've been going to the gym regularly for a few weeks ( while this does not deserve a pat on the back, it is a start) and I cant wait for my next opportunity to lessen my time on running three miles. I figure that if I cant lose the weight at least I'll be in better shape to carry it. And who knows.... I bet I shed a few pounds. Oh, and my ass is so sore from racquetball....Just thought you might want to know why I'm walking funny.

A Look at the Super Bowl
This post is a Football Fan's view of the pinnacle of football games, the Super Bowl. First, the Giants won. Surprise? I think not. Not because the Giants are that good a football team but because parity is truely alive in the NFL. The best teams in the NFL can and will lose to lesser teams on any given sunday. The Margin of superiority is lessening with every season. This is the product that the NFL thinks Fans want. I am not sold. While the arguement can be made that the Patriots are todays dynasty. Truely dominating teams like the Cowboys of the early 90's or the 49er's of the 80's would not have lost to a wild card team in the most memorable day of their lives. Well, maybe none of this is true, maybe, I'm just sore that the Cowboys pounded the Giants twice in the regular season but fell flat in the playoffs. It's become apparent to me that the Patriots are not America's team, they're the team America's loves to root against.

A Man's Blog
I recognize that blogs have many different faces and content, but I created this blog to rival my wife's so called "Family Blog". While I am thankful for her hard work and effort to keep it current, it has become apparent to me that it will have a lean towards a female's perspective. This is okay, since it's her blog and she is the glue that holds our family together but I have found that I also want something different, something that represents The Garrett Men, something that holds a male perspective. So, with that said, please excuse all grammar errors, spelling errors, and long periods between updates. I hope you enjoy this rare glimpse into The Garrett Men!
